Aeroponics Series – Camelia

Traditionally Camellia is propagated using rooting powder, placed in soil and covered with a plastic bag.

We have been using aeroponics to propagate Camellia for about two years now.

They take quite a long time even in the aeroponics to root. The camelia cutting in this image took about 6-8 weeks to root.

Once the roots were firmly established if was potted on and kept in the greenhouse over winter before being planted out the following year.
