We first stumbled on the idea of Aeroponics whilst watching Gardner’s World. A propagator was being used by a grower to increase the speed and the amount of plants he could reproduce. After some research the next morning we decided on the X-Stream 120 Site Propagator and quickly purchased one. In addition we purchased a lighting which we put on a timer to provide additional light for the cuttings to propagate and grow.
Our front garden and courtyard were complete blank canvasses.
The back garden had some hedging, mature shrubs, a few raspberry canes, wild blackcurrants and trees, but needed plenty of additional plants and shrubs. In total the gardens amounted to about one and a half acres and there was no way we would have been able to afford filling it with plants from local garden centres.
Aeroponics seemed a great solution and we reached out to friends and family and took cuttings from their shrubs and fruit bushes. The plan was to use this in conjunction with bulbs and planting seeds.
