Last Thursday I started to look at some of the items we had collated over the last few years to try to put them to use.

I currently have some small milk bottles with lids and for a while I had been thinking about making a small hot chocolate caddy. So I started drafting ideas about what it might look like with some assistance of CoPilot and Adobe Firefly.

Soon after sending Simon some concept ideas he set to work designing the prototype which we decided we would cut out of 9mm ply before looking for some suitable hard or softwood pieces to make it from.

Whilst Simon was cutting it out I started thinking about some little bags I could make and embroider that would hold the hot chocolate and toppings. I have quite a lot of pre-shrunk calico which I though might look nice. I once again drafted some visual concepts with the help of Adobe Firefly.

Here’s the first prototype taped before gluing to make sure the sizes were right and the joints all fitted together.

We have now glued it and I am working on the designs in a bit more detail using my Hatch embroidery software. I will add some more photographs once I have them.
